Arthur's Milkbar (ARTHURS MILKBAR PTY LTD, ABN 15 662 420 279) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

  • Name, email address, phone number and any delivery address you give us.
  • Order details, including items, pick up dates, event details and any dietary or allergen notes.
  • Enquiry and booking details submitted through our website forms.
  • Payment information, which is collected and processed by our payment providers. We do not see or store your full card details.
  • Technical information such as IP address, browser, device and pages visited, collected through cookies and analytics.

Why we collect it

  • To take, prepare and fulfil your orders.
  • To answer enquiries and handle function and catering requests.
  • To send order confirmations, receipts and service messages.
  • To send newsletters and offers where you have opted in.
  • To improve our website, menu and service.
  • To meet our legal, tax and record keeping obligations.

Who we share it with

We disclose personal information only to parties who help us run the business:

  • Shopify, which hosts our online store.
  • Our payment providers, for processing transactions.
  • Postal and courier services and our merchandise fulfilment partners, for sending merchandise.
  • The email and booking platforms we use to communicate with you.
  • Professional advisers, and government bodies where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information.

Some of these providers store data overseas, including in the United States. By using our site you consent to that transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Third party ordering and booking platforms

Orders placed through Me&u, Uber Eats or DoorDash, and table bookings made through our reservation system, are handled under those providers' own privacy policies. We receive only what they pass to us to fulfil your order or booking.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies to hold your cart, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. You can disable cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may then not work properly.

Marketing

We send marketing email only to people who have opted in. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to opt out at any time.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected and to meet our legal and tax obligations, then destroy or deidentify it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing admin@arthursmilkbar.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period.

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
